South Pole worldwide is one of the leading companies in the space of PoAs, one of the strong tools of the second wave of market based emission reductions.

We have been advising clients such as the Indian government, the World Bank, KfW, or GTZ in setting up PoAs in various countries.

For FFEM, French Ministry of Finance, French Ministry of Environment, CDC Climat and ADEME we developed the seminal, state-of-the-art PoA Guidebook, presented at the United Nations' COP16 in Cancún at an official side event.

For KfW we developed the study How to develop a NAMA by scaling-up ongoing programmatic CDM activities on the road from PoA to NAMAS.

Furthermore, South Pole is developing around a dozen PoAs on its own account.

There are very few organizations like South Pole that combine the detailed CDM technical skills with the management capacity needed to efficiently run coordinating entities, ensuring not only a successful registration of PoAs but also the issuance of carbon credits.
