Method

According to a study by Dr. Alexander Wissner-Gross, a physicist and environmental activist at Harvard University, an average website emits about 0.02g (0,0008oz.) of carbon dioxide per second of visit. Read more in this article of CNN-Tech, among many others.
Knowing average visit times per page and the number of times our banners are loaded, we can determine how many emissions we have to offset. We periodically retire (i.e., take out of the market) this amount of voluntary emission reductions at the registries.
