A Wealth of Experience – Best Practice Processes Depicted in the Project Management Tool: The flow of information in the Project Management Tool (PMT) is based on a RACI diagram developed by South Pole Carbon Asset Management Ltd. which in turn is based on extensive experience in managing Carbon projects. The PMT is currently in use within South Pole on a day-to-day basis. At the moment 82 users have access rights, with 90% visiting at least once a week, and at least 50% visiting on a daily basis.

  • Core feature: Project milestones management, assignment of responsibilities for projects, sharing of information about projects
  • 4-eyes-principle for all milestones that are closing
  • Quality checks (up to 8-eyes-principle) of key milestones

  • Assignments of expected or issued credits in sales
  • Cash flow tracking and planning
  • Basic HR centered services such as facilitated timekeeping, expenses reporting and their respective approvals, user data management, company structure depiction etc.
  • Knowledge sharing: Forums (currently >1600 entries), guidance documents, notifications
  • The South Pole PMT currently holds information on ca. 900 emission reduction projects, consultancies and sales projects.
